Just came across some work that’s somewhat related. Jason Evans did a project in the 90’s where he photographed young black men dressed as ‘country gents’ in carefully chosen suburban settings. Have a look here.

It dawned upon me during my nth time visiting the mazework under Victory Plaza in an ever fruitless effort to find shoes that actually fit me, that my project would love a multimedia piece about shopping and styles in this underground haphazard full of pinks and purples.

Now, to do it. I would shoot and record. Shoot with my digi I guess. how to do it without security throwing me out or people just generally losing their minds? Well, I’ll try to do some portraits down there with my 35 mm first and see what happens.
